SUMMER of COLOR WEEK THREE - 2 shades of purple and 1 shade of yellow

(a running joke in my family....doodling a head and sticking it on legs calling it HEAD ON LEGS)

Anyway...thought I would enter that for my Week Three but decided to zentangle a horse head and add the colors for the week. Not really thrilled with either one...they are cute but not exactly what I was wanting to accomplish either......but....I am stopping lol

just couple things I am working on...

the seahorse zentangle is done...but I think I am going to paint and do a background or mixed media piece for the sketch I have started of the woman's face

Summer of Color Week 6 - Sage Green and Sepia

well I at first thought of doing a grasshopper....then turtles, crocodiles, lizards all came to mind. I went with sea turtles....kept is simple and it is okay...but I am not thrilled with it. I then thought of the Creature from the Black Lagoon and how the colors would have been perfect for him...so I decided to do a quick one of him.....here they are ....sad to see this end again ....but look forward to next Summer of Color!

Summer of Color Week 5: Candy Apple Red and Yellow

This week's colors for Summer of Color 2013 were CANDY APPLE RED AND YELLOW. I immediately thought of a dragon...and a zentangled dragon....where I could turn him red and have yellow trim. I also trimmed the edges again in gold...and I added gold highlights to the dragon as well. some recent zentangles and artwork I have doodled out...

This is a GIANT sized zentangle....it is like 3 feet by 3 feet.....takes up a lot of my kitchen table space....but I am branching out....would be amazing to do an entire wall! Here I have added some shading and details...trying to decide what all to add to the background and sides of the artwork...

Also made a GIANT SEA SERPENT....all with fine-tipped pen pretty much...this took a while and I have to admit my hand cramped up sometimes! lol


Was curious what my giant Japanese fish would look like colored so I made a SMALLER model in my small sketchpad and colored it in...I DO like the color too!
