recalled cribs.......can someone tell me again WHY we continue to do any business with CHINA????
A 6-month-old and a 9-month-old died in older model Graco and Simplicity cribs that were sold through May 2007.
A 1-year-old died in a later-model crib, which has not yet been recalled but is under investigation, the commission said.
Both brands are made by Simplicity of Reading, Pa. The recalled models, which were manufactured in China, sell for between $100 and $300.
Federal officials and Simplicity released no further details on the victims.
In each case, the crib's drop rail was installed upside down by the consumer. The deaths occurred as the movable rail detached, creating a gap the babies fell into, officials said.
"I was thinking of buying one," said Queens mom-to-be Katrina Cruz, 28, as she shopped for a Simplicity crib at Albee for Babies on the upper West Side. "[Now] I'm not."
The store's manager, Frank DeMaco, said his company sells Simplicity cribs through its Web site.
"We don't know what we'll do," DeMaco said. "We haven't heard anything from the manufacturer."
The consumer commission said it was aware of seven infant entrapments and 55 other incidents with the six Simplicity and six Graco model cribs that are covered by the nationwide recall.
The agency warned caregivers to check the beds to make sure the rail was properly installed - but said it's also aware of two incidents that occurred when the drop side had been put in correctly.
"Simplicity strives to make safe products," said company President Ken Waldman. "That is our No. 1 priority."
The cribs have been the subject of two earlier recalls, including one after a 19-month-old died in Oregon in a Graco crib early last year, consumer agency officials said.
In the latest recall, consumers with older cribs should contact Simplicity for a free repair.
Those with newer models should check that the drop-side was installed right-side-up. For more information, contact Simplicity at (888) 593-9274.
With all the latest recalled toys and crap Made In China.......that are causing horrible things to happen to our children.....and adults.....I don't know about you but I am personally SICK of dealing with them in any way. I have been really searching the labels before I buy and trying to find products MADE IN THE USA only to buy.....which seem to be extremely difficult to come by. Made In China products are slowly killing us off......literally....or damaging brains......bodies.....doesn't this bother anyone else?? Can't we bring all those jobs back to the States where we can make sure the products are being manufactured correctly? HOW MANY DEATHS and SCREW-UPS will it take before everyone has enough and SCREAMS TO STOP this madness? I get recall lists in my email now every day. AND....guess where those recalls are all coming from????? CHINA!!! How many times do we have to get banged upside the head before we smarten up?
In Memory Of....
The song I chose was "Jubilee" sung by Alison Krauss, not because the outcome was anything at all to be happy about....but because I still hope throughout all this tragedy and grief that the families and community can pause and reflect on the lives of their loved ones and some of the happier times spent while they were still here. The song expresses both the horror of loss and tragedy......and jubilee at remembrances of happier times with loved ones and how we all should embrace them while they last for we never know when they could be taken away from us.

Silence...
It's not that words are not revolving within my head
On an endless merry-go-round they twirl about
The ride never ends but continues to spin
Day in, day out
Into the darkest hours of night
Sorting them out seems troublesome
Sometimes so overwhelming a task, I choose to not even bother
Instead I allow the merry-go-round
To continue its journey
Its endless motion
Round and round it goes
Spinning, making me dizzy with thoughts
Words mixed up, jumbled together
Forming partial sentences
Making little sense
I recognize the fact that I have all the words up there
But choosing the correct ones and correct order seems impossible
I can find one or two...but the third and fourth escape my grasp
They choose instead to continue their own ride
Spinning round and round in my head
Focusing long enough to capture a complete thought
Without it being intercepted with other thoughts
Seems too exhausting
So I don't even bother
Instead I sit
My head a swirling, twirling mishmash
Of words and thoughts unspoken

An amazing OSU game yesterday!
Today is the first official day of fall......and it is a beautiful day outside. However I am in a weird-ass mood. I cannot stand it when I am in this mood. No particular reasons why either which is even more frustrating.
