okay.....how is it possible for my cat to get out of a locked cage???

P1090537

There are times my cat becomes a terror for no apparent reason.....and will attack me or Noah.  This morning after I was petting him and being nice to  him he hauled off and attacked me again......got me good this time.....and my wrist is still bloody.

WHEN he is like this I will usually put him into his cat carrier or larger kennel cage for a "time out."  In the past on at least 2 occasions while in his smaller cat carrier......he somehow was let out or got out....and when I checked......his carrier door was still in a locked position....but removed from the carrier.

okay.......that was weird enough........but......I recently got a larger, kennel/type cage from my parents to use for him as it is larger and allows him to see out all sides....etc.  He is in fact more comfortable if he has a time out and he loves being in there so much so that he will most times during the day when sleepy, crawl into that kennel to sleep instead of anywhere else.

Today I put him into the large kennel cage and locked the latch down tight.  This has a very strong, secure latch and it is not easily opened even by myself let alone is able to be shimmied open.   This latch one cannot just push back to open....you have to also LIFT UP on the latch while you slide it over.

I was ticked at Opie.......my cat........and could have so easily kicked his little ass out the door today to set him free forever!

BUT instead I put him in that kennel for a time out.   About 30 minutes or so had passed and I decided to go to the kitchen to heat up some water for tea.   He meowed of course when he saw me come through wanting out and I told him he could just stay in there till Noah got up.  After all this is Saturday and he does not have to wake up early especially after being up late last night.

I walked back to my office......and a short time later......here came OPIE strolling in big as you please.  I figured Noah had gotten up and let him out but Noah was still in his room sound asleep!

I went to the kitchen and checked the kennel.   The door was barely ajar.......and what was more obvious was the latch was still to the right and down in a LOCKED position.

NOW I tried closing the door again and seeing if I could push or pull it open.....ANYTHING.  NO.  I could not.  NOTHING would un-jam that tight-fitting door and lock.

SO.....can anyone offer any reasons as to HOW this could have happened?   AFTER this while I was standing at the stove making me a cup of tea.....Opie came out and looked at an area BEHIND me.......jumped up and took off down the hall like something had spooked him.  ALSO not the first time he has acted like that.

SO I was sort of crabby this morning for some reason anyway....and now this weirdness has added to it.

Any ideas??

KEYBOARDS dirtier than TOILETS research says!

Some computer keyboards harbor more harmful bacteria than a toilet seat, research has suggested.

Consumer group Which? said tests at its London offices found equipment carrying bugs that could cause food poisoning.

Out of 33 keyboards swabbed, 4 were regarded as a potential health hazard and one harbored 5 times more germs than one of the office's toilet seats.

Microbiologist Dr Peter Wilson said a keyboard was often "a reflection of what is in your nose and in your gut."

During the Which? tests in January this year, a microbiologist deemed one of the office's keyboards to be so dirty he ordered it to be removed, quarantined and cleaned. It had 150 times the recommended limit for bacteria – 5 times as filthy as a lavatory seat tested at the same time, the research found.

The equipment was swabbed for bugs, such as those that can cause food poisoning like E. coli and staphylococcus aureus.

Dr Wilson, a consultant microbiologist at University College London Hospital, told BBC Radio 5 Live sharing a keyboard could be passing on illnesses among office workers.

"If you look at what grows on computer keyboards, and hospitals are worse, believe it or not, it's more or less a reflection of what's in your nose and in your gut," he said.

"Should somebody have a cold in your office, or even have gastroenteritis, you're very likely to pick it up from a keyboard."

Which? said one of the causes of dirty keyboards was users eating lunch at their desk, with crumbs encouraging the growth of bacteria.

Poor personal hygiene, such as not washing hands after going to the toilet, could also be to blame, it said.

Cleaning techniques

Which? computing editor Sarah Kidner advised users to give their computer "a spring clean."

"It's quite simple to do and could prevent your computer from becoming a health hazard," she said.

She said dust and food crumbs should be shaken out of keyboards and they should be wiped with a soft, lightly dampened, lint-free cloth. They should also be disinfected with alcohol wipes.

Research by the University of Arizona last year found the average office desktop harbored 400 times more bacteria than the average office toilet seat.

They also found that, compared to men, on average women have 3 to 4 times the amount of germs in, on and around their work area.

just some random thoughts.......

Am I the only one who thinks we should cut off ALL trade with CHINA?  Have you read now where the heparin contamination was purposefully done?  And what about the continuation of recall after recall regarding all the lead paint in toys and products that our KIDS use?  I personally and sick of it all and think there is NO excuse other than a lot of big shots either were not doing their job and making sure others were doing their job or.....they just all stopped giving a crap.  Perhaps it is a combination of the two.

I have been mowing.....and there is something in the air that is making my sinuses act up......I got a nice hanging plantar for outside my front door.....and some Violas to plant somewhere......probably up by the front door in a container so they can have some shade for part of the day.

I cannot seem to attach ANY hose to my front spigot.  I am not sure what has happened...so if I can't fix that watering anything out front will not be an easy thing.....hence me rethinking planting anything else other than the Violas in a big plantar of some sort.

I WANNA go to the DRIVE IN.  Our Drive In had IRON MAN TONIGHT!  I wanted to go but it is a school night for Noah and he wanted to stay home.....and I had to work anyway.....so......maybe another time......BUMMER though....it looks to be an amazing movie!

what else what else...........I had all sorts of things to write about...now I am drawing a blank.  Migraines and sinus issues do funny things to my brain!

And now I am going to bed....because I suddenly got a craving for
