Egg Beaters versus REAL eggs.....

okay.....Egg Beaters professes to be REAL EGGS...just the BEST part they say......the eggwhite! Of course since the nutritious YOLK was removed they then doctor up the leftover eggwhites with lots of vitamins and nutritents, not to mention it has been pasteurized and homogenized.

Yeah.....well.....I LOVE eggs. They fill me up......give me lots of energy and have lots of wonderful protein which I crave. BUT......eating eggs every day and the yolks which I LOVE.....may not be the best choice.

SO lately I have switched to mostly eggwhites......with 1/2 a yolk added occasionally. I had heard about Egg Beaters and figured well in between the REAL EGGS to eat MORE eggs I could try them.

I wish I had saved my money. YUCK ...YUCK......YUCK!

They smelled good cooking up.....but when the egg-filled fork hit my tongue..... YIKES! I just about gagged. They have a SLICK/SLIME-LIKE consistency.......they taste greasy....almost like badly fried donuts in old grease when they leave a film of grease on the roof of your mouth!?

WELL....these did the same thing. NO taste......NO flavor. I was stunned....though not totally surprised. I am going to see if maybe my grandma wants the rest of these. IF NOT......they are getting dumped down the drain and I will continue eating the REAL THING....much more flavor and much better taste.

I used EggBeaters for the first time on Friday, when making brownies from scratch. My husband and I ate them for dessert that night. Saturday morning, I was in such pain (forehead, neck, stomach), my husband took me to the ER. I was diagnosed with a migraine. I've never had a problem with this recipe before, so the only difference was the egg substitute. Is there any research on adverse reactions to Egg Beaters?

you know I doubt it. I have to wonder sometimes if foods and processed stuff we eat gets checked as thoroughly as they should...or even screened at all? I mean I think as long as the allowed supposed "safe" ingredients are IN the processed food items......do they even have to be screened? I have no idea. BUT I am not surprised about the migraine. I think Egg Beaters are pretty nasty and have a lot of ingredients in it that we probably should stay clear of!

I had egg beaters yesterday at my favorite diner. This morning I suffered an ocular migraine. No doubt in my mind that the egg beaters, which contain many artificial ingredients caused it. Never again.
