Update on Joe the dog..........
SO now Joe cannot see out of this end of the pen.....to see what we are all doing on this side....we cannot easily even see him at all unless we go to the backside of my grandmother's garage area or come down the alley the other way....as that side of his fence area is still open to "view" things. My uncle still went over to pet Joe the other day even though the owner said if she catches any one of us on their property they will call the police. I feel so bad for Joe. I was there last night and would normally have gone over to hug him and talk to him and kiss him and give him treats. This was all I could see instead. I did YELL over to him "HI JOE!" and I heard him bark. This makes me incredibly sad and upset. I feel really badly for Joe....whose sad life probably has become even sadder now as he has limited gaze upon the outside world or any signs of affection toward him with this big fence section up.
I doubt these owners even got a permit to put this fence piece up. SO..instead of doing what was right for Joe and making the pen livable for him.....and spending any money on HIM.....the owner out of spite.....spent money on a fence section and put it up instead.
I think she is a wicked bitch. Sorry.....but it is what it is.
AND to make matters worse...Tom the cat I have been taking care of with the help of my grandmother...until I can take him to MY home in the future that allows cats......seems to have either been shot in the face with a BB gun or pellet gun or got into a fight and bit by another animal or cat. I am not sure..I did not think to take photos of his face last night. The wound does not seem to bother him much and it looks clean and dry and not infected.....he can eat okay. I will have to go back and take photos and monitor the situation and take him to the vet if he needs treatment. I hope these neighbors have not done something to Tom. I may have to bring Tom here to live in my house or backyard before I am in a place that allows pets...just for his safety.

I was tagged......here is my sixth photo from my sixth file...
I had to sort through my files.......as I have many movie files and you are to only use a PHOTO file according to the directions.....so in my sixth PHOTO file....this was the SIXTH photo....you can CLICK IT TO ENLARGE it.....if you like....
I am supposed to tag 6 others......but I think I will just leave it open to anyone who wants to participate. You go to your photo files......and post the SIXTH photo from your sixth file.......that's it! Then you can tag SIX others .....or not......depending on what you want to do.

My Deck of Me SUPER Give-A-Way prize from Dianna! THANKS DIANNA!
Dianna you outdid yourself.....this was stunning! Such a creative piece of work and I will be hanging this up to see it every day!
So many craft goodies....a complete box of stamps....stickers........wonderful things! I can make a lot of creative things with all these treats!
I LOVE Alice in Wonderland and this version........and this is exactly the attitude I have!! This will also be hung on my wall so I can see it every day....or my visualization BOARD!
I can't sleep....it's Ground Hog Day!

I have not been able to sleep well this entire past week. My cat chooses to get into things in the middle of the night now which does not help. Just when I start to sleep well he gets into crap....so I have decided from now on he will just have to go into his carrier at bedtime. At least I don't have to worry about him attacking me (which he rarely does now when I am asleep at least) or him getting into things.
Before I went to bed to try to sleep I was able to watch Groundhog Day. I enjoy the movie but could not really get into it tonight.
I guess I am still thinking about all the crap the neighbor woman of my grandma's had to say to me about Joe and staying off her property...something. Who knows.....(see post below).
SO now I can't sleep. Here I sit at 2:06 a.m. tired but not able to fall asleep. Even with the cat in the carrier. This will mean I will be toast tomorrow...which is not good as I had a lot planned.
sigh......

I just finished watching the Superbowl......what a load of crap!
So that has me in a semi-pissy mood.
AND Joe's so-called "owner" (the dog that lives next to my grandma) confronted me today. I went to see my grandma and stopped by to say hello to Joe like I always do. I took him 2 dog treats...went back to my car to get my stuff to take into grandma's house.....and here came the neighbor lady. She was yelling to me to stay off her property. Since I could not HEAR her too well as she was trying to walk away from me as she said it (I guess she was afraid of a confrontation)...I walked TOWARDS her to ask her what she said. She said it again...to stay off her property and quit FEEDING her dog. I told her I was in the alley.....NOT her property.....and she quickly went into a tirade of how someone was "harassing" them about their dog Joe....and how the Humane Society had been out many times....and how JOE was THEIR BABY and they LOVED HIM and rescued him from the dog pound years ago....on and on.......and of course I said "well to me it sure does not look like you LOVE the dog" and she tried to say I was the one making the complaints about Joe and I told her ANYONE LIVING around her could easily SEE the conditions Joe lived in and to everyone it APPEARED she did not love him much because of the way they did not seem to pay any attention to him let alone take care of him.....etc. So she then accused me of talking to HER neighbors.....and all this other crap. My head hurts too much now to even relay it all here ...and it is worthless chatter anyway since nothing will ever be done about the poor dog Joe.
I told her to clean up the dog poop in the pen. She said that was THEIR business if they cleaned up the dog poop or not....and that it was DOG POOP (which she screamed at me)...and they did not HAVE to clean it up. Joe supposedly is at one end of the pen she said and the other end is the end filled with dog poop. Yeah this is a lie since I have pics of him EATING even in the dog poop areas and walking around in it....but for some reason UNKNOWN to the humanity of mankind she refuses to clean up the dog poop or even have her husband do it...saying it is not something she feels they have to do. ???????
She said that they have a heated water dish for Joe......feed him....take him to the vet.....put him in the garage every night (IN A CAGE!) and that he is healthy and well taken care of and loved....blah blah blah.
HUM......I told her perhaps it was his LIVING conditions someone was upset with...as it appeared horrible. NO poop ever being cleaned up.....no proper place for Joe to sleep or walk around in.....too small an area for such a big dog.....etc.
so she basically ended the conversation telling me to tell all my relatives to stay away from JOE and her property......and I told her she did not own the alley I was in......but she said to stay away from their dog and property or they would call the police.
Yeah.....bring it on you lying bitch.
Sorry.....but she just messed with the wrong person on this matter.
If she thinks for one minute I will let up on the COMPLAINTS about Joe if I see anything amiss over there....she is sadly mistaken.
Watch this clip and you tell me........what do you think about the conditions this dog lives in????
and to top it all off....I realized yesterday that homemade chicken pot pie along with my homemade turkey pot pie are 2 foods to add to my list of items I cannot seem to control eating......or stop eating if they are in my house.....so wonderful.
Nothing like eating almost an entire chicken pot pie myself. I was determined to save ONE piece at least to take to my grandma's house as the prior turkey pot pies NEVER made it anywhere other than in my mouth and belly. Well I DID save one piece....and it did make it to her house......but NOT eating that one piece was the hardest thing! I wanted to eat it too.....and I wanted to come home and make ANOTHER chicken pot pie to eat which I DID NOT because I KNOW I would have eaten at least HALF before the night was over.
What is wrong with me? WHY can I not stop eating certain foods still at this point in my life? This is insanity at its best......
sigh.........
Tomorrow is Ground Hog day......I hope I sleep better tonight than I have all week. ALL I wanted to do today was sleep...but I did actually accomplish a little more than that.....but not much.
I am off tomorrow so I will open my Vintage Valentine Swap present then......I should work in this room....it is depressing with all the crap piled around me.
I DID do my taxes on Saturday evening and filed them and I will be getting back a nice sum of money so that makes me feel blessed.
meanwhile my head is reeling from everything else......

We are now a Level 3 Snow Emergency.....
that was a lot of shoveling and of course the snow plow plowed us all in at the end of our driveways......over 3 feet deep in at least a 10-15 foot section I had to move
my snowman that stands 3 feet got completely buried after this last snow pass moved through....I tried to shake the snow around him off.....
There is a bush buried under all this snow on the corner
Noah is a little over 4-1/2 feet tall.......he is right about the height of the snow to the right of him
Level 2 snow emergency here so far.......and it is still snowing....
I have not had time to post more about my Vintage Valentine Swap. I will try to do that later. I also wanted to share what I received in the DECK OF ME give-a-way prize I won in the drawing at the end of the project.....but I also have not had time. I PROMISE to get to that soon as you will never believe all the goodies Dianna sent me! It even made me cry! BUT a good cry. SO I will get to those posts and pics soon!
As far as my Creative Every Day and 12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women projects.....I have been creative in areas of cooking and such recently.....and some other artwork for a job that I cannot share......but I will be posting some other things soon and my thoughts on the last couple of weeks readings in the 12 Secrets project. I feel bad I am a bit behind, but things have been a bit stressful and chaotic here.
AND now it is snowing! A LOT! I love it and am thankful we can stay home safe and sound.....soon I will have to try to get outside in the back and clear off a spot for the birds and give them some food and water. Anyway....I posted some SNOW photos on my photography blog..... http://photographyfordummies.blogspot.com if you want to check out more.....her are a couple though:
Mr. Snowman, who is about 3 feet tall, would have been buried under the snow, but I could not bring myself to covering up his head!
AND for an update on JOE the dog...the Humane Society did email me back saying they went back out to the house....the dog had food....had a heated water dish....and looked healthy and had been to the vet regularly. The owners also told them the Humane Society has been out at least 4 times now and they reportedly are working with them to rectify the dog situation. I emailed back asking about the LIVING conditions which is the whole thing I have been upset about to begin with that they never seem to address......so far no word back on that. Like telling the owners to clean out the dog poop.....make a safe place for Joe to be outside........etc. I doubt I ever do hear back on that.

Saturday night I made a lemon meringue pie and homemade wheat bread.....
I have been super busy lately. I sometimes don't know if I am coming or going....but I think I have been doing a lot of both. Saturday I stayed up and made a lemon meringue pie and homemade wheat bread to take to my mom and dad's house for dinner Sunday.....the pie looked better than it tasted. I love lemon meringue pie but this time I used the pudding mix for the filling instead of making my own and it was just plain nasty. The homemade crust and meringue was good....but that was about it! The bread was pretty good...it had sunflower seeds and flaxseed in it as well. VERY good warm with butter. BUT a bit too strong of wheat for my taste and I love wheat.
Been shoveling a lot of snow..moving Christmas stuff out into the garage.....trying to homeschool Noah and work full time too...and be "creative" when I can. I now get to tackle redoing this office area.....that is going to be a project!
More later.....Super Bowl is coming up on Sunday...should be fun to watch!

Vintage Valentine Swap.....I have already received my package...but I have not yet opened it!
I just got done baking another 125 Valentine heart-shaped gingerbread cookies! My son loves them and he has already gone through the first batch I made just a couple of days ago. Well this time I did eat a few myself.
Sunday I finally had some time to repack all my Christmas ornaments from my tree. I had taken the tree down finally on the 12th of January I believe it was.....somewhere around that time...BUT had no time to wrap all the ornaments and put them back in their boxes and tubs. AND my bubble lights and regular lights. It took me about 5 hours or so to wrap and put them all back. I was able to watch 2-1/2 movies during the time it took me so that was a few hours. (Little Women and The Five People You Meet In Heaven -which was a weird movie compared to the book) I usually watch Christmas/winter movies when I put ornaments away...but after watching Little Women I just watched a movie or two on regular cable. Now to put all the tubs back into the garage....and my house will be back in order! JUST in time to drag stuff out of my office and rearrange and reorganize that area.
CLICK to see some of my ornaments up close! SOME of them!
I am tired. I have to finish cleaning up my kitchen. My sister and her daughter came over today and we went to see our grandma....had lunch with her. I shoveled off her walks and put salt down. I put fresh pine chips in the cat house. I gave Tom and Joe some chicken ....I was so glad to see grandma and Tom and Joe. I was thankful they were all okay and alive!
Back home....visited with my sister and her daughter Audrey. Audrey and my son Noah played together.....we had a quick bite of supper...and they had to go home.
SO a busy day. Tomorrow it will be back to work early....4:00 a.m. starts before you know it....and then doing home-school with Noah...meeting with his teachers online in class....and taking him to speech therapy. I have to take grandma's keys back to her that I forgot I had in my pocket too. BUSY day again.

Just so everyone knows......a reminder about Joe and Tom.......and what I have already tried to do for them....
He has a too small dog house that sits over a hole in the ground. There are many holes in the ground in his pen that fill with water when it rains and combines with the poop in the pen creating a stench and unsanitary conditions. He looks so sad....but despite all this neglect he has the most loving heart and spirit out of any dog I have ever known.
I even turned to Channel 2 our local news center ...and asked if they could please step in and do something. NOTHING was done.
The humane society woman DID finally make an appearance to check on Joe. However...she did not get out of her car...she only drove down the alley and did not even check the leg that had the sore on it that I told her about. She said she told the people they had to put straw in the pen....give Joe fresh water and food and shelter from the elements.
The owners did nothing. I called again. They were served papers. The owners SAID they did crap but they did nothing. FINALLY...this year.....2 years later....they finally put some straw in the pen this winter for Joe. NOT much and it is already saturated with poop and mud...etc...because......you guessed it.... THEY DO NOT CLEAN THAT UP EITHER OR CHANGE IT.
I have wanted to sneak over in the middle of the night and just TAKE Joe; however, I do not live somewhere yet that I can do that as I am not even allowed to have pets here and I already took in 1 stray cat and have him in hiding. TOM (the other stray cat at my grandma's) is being fed and taken care of by me and my grandma until I can get a place to also bring him.
Other than going over and stealing JoE we have done everything we can apparently on our end. I don't know what else to do. I have wondered if we put on some demonstration somewhere locally if anything would be done. BUT my grandma does not want family stirring up problems for her with her neighbors. I don't want the neighbors just taking Joe to be put to sleep or dumping him. I doubt they would pay money to have him put to sleep...so maybe that is not a legitimate worry.
We all feel bad about Joe. The conditions he has to endure and live in are deplorable at best. So at this point that is the reason I ask for prayer. Because there does not appear to be much else we can do. Another nearby neighbor of my grandma's DID let their dog freeze to death in the bitter conditions. I think many so-called "owners" need a lesson in pet care to say the least!
The Humane Society lady has told me they have done all they can. They tell me they will go back out and they never show up. They tell me the straw was put in the pen which it was....but all the other stuff is left unchecked like the fact that the same straw is never replaced or cleaned out. They also have told me they told the owners to put Joe in their garage when the weather is bad. It does sometimes appear they might be doing that. So that is something at least.
I have posted pictures before about Joe. In the summer the weeds around his little pen get so high he cannot possibly get air. SO my uncle goes over and cuts the weeds down. Other than me or my uncle and my son going over to talk to Joe or say something to him....or an occasional other family member...his owners never seem to visit him or play with him or anything. They neglect him. They meanwhile have 2 cats and another dog INSIDE their home.
It makes me sick. I wish the owners could be stuck out in the pen for a period of time to see what it is like.
Here is a link of my prior post that tells more of the story and shows pics of the conditions Joe has to endure in the rainy weather.
PRIOR POST ABOUT JOE
at the end of the post I linked to above is a MOVIE CLIP of Joe's conditions in warmer wet weather
I think I will send in my story and photographs to the STATE somewhere......or the sheriff's office. I don't know who is ABOVE the Humane Society.....since it is NON-profit and county ruled....they can make up their rules as they go along.
Meanwhile I am sending a letter this time to all the email addresses on the county's web site. I have not tried that route before. I am also attaching copies of all my photos and movie clip link.

it is -14 with a wind chill of -34 degrees!
Joe
Tom
please pray for Tom and Joe. Tom is a cute cat that hangs around my grandmother's house and Joe is her neighbor's dog. The neighbors do not take very good care of Joe and he is left out in all type of elements without proper shelter and conditions are horrific for him. I have written about him before..it is so very sad. I want to just go rescue him and bring him home to where I live...but right now renting this house I am not even allowed to have the one cat I do have (which I took in as a stray).
Tom-Kat we take pretty good care of, but he still has to be left outside. My grandmother is helping to keep him fed and such until I can hopefully bring him here to live too....somewhere if I can get a place that allows pets.
Needless to say I am worried about those 2 little guys and wish I already lived somewhere ...where I could have brought them both to live. I don't want to find out they froze to death during this bitterly cold weather.
Secret #1 of 12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women -"Acknowledging Your Creative Self"....
This is tough for me. I have held my creativity in for such a long time now....I was beginning to think I had "lost" my creative self. I oftentimes found myself wondering if I could remember how to draw or paint or do any arts/crafts. I would see other people do amazing creative work. I soaked it up. I was inspired. BUT I did nothing. I bought craft supplies....so many I could set up shop in my home. I did nothing. I have done little to nothing since.
I am a mom of a 10-year-old boy who has autism. Once he was born any creative side of myself was tucked away. I had had zero time for myself after that...as Noah required all my attention when I was not working. I am not complaining. It is just the way it was. I continued to collect art "supplies" and ideas and books ....thinking maybe ONE day I would be able to do something with them. Ten years have passed. For the first time in 10 years...there are now snippets of time in my life that are FREE. Noah has made tremendous progress and while seeing to his needs is still a major portion of my life....after working and home-schooling Noah....I do find an occasional day where I have a few moments for myself.
When that first happened I was totally clueless as to what to do with my time. I had forgotten what it felt like to have "time" to oneself. Sometimes I just soaked up and relished the "doing nothing" days.....as there had been few of those in the past 10 years.
Recently I have longed to get more creative again. I write poetry and sometimes an occasional story and that is a huge outlet for my creative side. It is one I can do fairly quickly and it requires less time. It is something I "must" do to remain sane. I have tried going "without" being creative even in that small way and I cannot. NOW I want to do MORE. I want to draw again and paint again and do mixed media and so many things. Last year I decided to do my first CRAFT CHALLENGE. It was a YEAR LONG project where each week we would receive prompts to create artwork on playing cards. It was called "Deck of Me". I was determined to complete this project as I felt it would PUSH me to make time for my creative self. It did. I soon found I was looking forward to those prompts and would get excited about "creating."
ONE of my goals this year was to continue the "flow" of my creativity...and one way I figured I could do that was to be accountable. To be given prompts to create by.....to do another challenge ...something. I signed up for this book blogging group for all those reasons. I have been asleep for so long....I want to wake up.......unleash my creative self.....and soar!
Here is what I created to express that:
The photo did not turn out the best....but here it is nonetheless.
I guess this can qualify too as my creative piece for my Creative Every Day challenge I am also participating in.

snowing like crazy here.....we are under a Level 1 Snow emergency so far!
I don't think you can see us anymore on the map.
I went out and cleared off a path to the bird feeder.....and a spot on the ground for the birds to sit and eat. I even cleared off a spot under the bushes for them to sit and eat or be on grass....and I made a path for the squirrels to come over to eat. I gave them fresh water. I am sure the neighbors by now think I have lost my mind.
Noah and I went out front and shoveled off the drive and walk by the front door. I then put salt down. I also cleared off the road by the mailbox so the mailman can drive up. It is still snowing and I was going to wait until it was completely over.....but decided since I was out....and the snow was like powder.....I could get all that done pretty quickly with no effort and I was right. Not really too much of a workout. AND bundled up it did not really feel as cold as they say it is.
Back to work for me. I am way behind.
